Advanced Search by Downloads, Revenue, and Date

Discover relevant and emerging apps beyond the category leaders. Appark Advanced Search combines estimated download and store revenue ranges with release dates, update activity, official categories, Appark Proprietary Tags, and in-app purchase availability. Build a focused competitor shortlist, then move selected apps into comparison, monitoring, or CSV-based offline research workflows.

Why Use Advanced Search for Competitor Research?

  • Search by performance estimates, not only app names: Define Download Range and Revenue Range thresholds using estimates for the previous complete calendar month. This helps narrow a broad mobile app database to products with a relevant scale, including emerging or under-the-radar competitors that may not appear among category leaders.
  • Combine First Release Date with Last Updated: Find recently launched apps and check whether their store listings have been updated recently. This combination can identify actively maintained candidates for further research, but a recent update does not prove that a publisher is investing in paid user acquisition.
  • Refine official categories with proprietary tags: Use official store categories alongside Appark Proprietary Tags for genres, themes, mechanics, and product characteristics. Examples include 4X strategy, Roguelike, merge games, and AI image generators. Add the In-App Purchases filter to refine the candidate set further.
  • Continue research without rebuilding your list: Select multiple result rows and use Add to Comparison or Add to Monitoring. You can also use Export CSV to create an offline research file for product reviews, market analysis, or an internal competitor database.

How to Find Apps Worth Further Research?

01

Define the market and quantitative range

  • Set market, category, and ranges: Choose the target country or region, select apps or games, and sort results by estimated downloads or estimated store revenue. Enter minimum and maximum values in Download Range and Revenue Range. For example, a $10K–$100K revenue range can remove the largest publishers from the result set and surface products at a more relevant scale for a smaller team.
02

Add date, tag, and in-app purchase filters

  • Add date, tag, and IAP filters: Use First Release Date to focus on apps first listed within a chosen window, such as the past six months. Add Last Updated to find apps with recent store-version activity. Apply Appark Proprietary Tags to narrow results by theme or mechanic. The In-App Purchases filter reflects store metadata only: No In-App Purchases does not establish that an app primarily uses advertising. For broader market trends, review Downloads & Revenue Rankings.
03

Evaluate the results in context

  • Evaluate results in context: Compare estimated downloads, estimated store revenue, and release timing across the result table. A recently released app with moderate downloads and meaningful store revenue may be worth investigating, but these signals do not prove profitability or future success. Open App Details to review release notes and store listing creatives. Open Publisher Details or Publisher Rankings to study the publisher's wider portfolio.
04

Compare, monitor, or export selected apps

  • Compare, monitor, or export: Click the blank area of a result row to select it, then select additional candidates as needed. Use Add to Comparison to send the set to App Comparison for available historical trend and period analysis. Use Add to Monitoring to track version and ranking events through Monitoring, including daily email digests and Event Details. Select Export CSV for offline analysis.

Data Definitions, Search Limits, and Export Access

Downloads and revenue shown in Advanced Search are estimates for the previous complete calendar month. Appark generates them through proprietary models using public app-store and market signals. They are not official store figures, audited financial results, or exact developer-reported data.

  • Revenue scope and date definitions: Estimated store revenue may include paid downloads, in-app purchases, and subscriptions processed through the app stores. It excludes in-app advertising revenue, e-commerce transactions, web payments, third-party payment channels, and other off-store revenue. Google Play results do not represent the entire Android ecosystem. First Release Date is the date an app was first publicly listed in the corresponding store. Last Updated is the latest available store-version timestamp. Official categories come from the applicable store, while Appark Proprietary Tags use Appark's classification system. The In-App Purchases filter indicates whether store metadata shows support for in-app purchases; it does not identify an app's primary monetization model.
  • Advanced Search plan limits: Advanced Search limits vary by plan. Free supports basic app-name search only and does not include advanced metric, date, or tag filters. Starter includes 100 Advanced Searches per day, Pro includes 500 per day, and Max includes unlimited Advanced Searches.
  • CSV export access: CSV export access follows separate monthly limits. CSV export is unavailable on Free. Starter includes 100 exports per month, Pro includes 500 per month, and Max includes unlimited exports. CSV files can contain the source-supported fields: rank, app name, publisher or developer, previous complete month's estimated downloads and estimated store revenue, First Release Date, and Appark tags.
